As every year during summer months we invite you for a trip to the "lost island" of Greece - Karpathos, where strong winds, 3 bays for various skill levels, slow pace of life and authentic local cuisine guarantee holidays packed with action on the water and ultimate relaxation on land.

Karpathos:

 

  • It is a narrow and mountainous island in the southeast part of the Aegean Sea, part of the Dodecanese Islands, located halfway between Crete and Rhodes;
  • Although It is only a few dozen kilometers away from its neighbors. It has always been sparsely populate and raw, almost wild. Therefore, it did not share the crowded fate of Crete and Rhodes. While these islands became icons of Greek tourism, Karpathos remained relatively unknown for a long time. Thanks to this, its inhabitants are still deeply attached to traditions, preserving original costumes, customs, and their own dialect to this day. This may not be evident in the modern capital but in the mountain villages (especially Olympos - pictured next) it is very much present.

 

Afiartis / spots:

 

  • This is where our spot, apartments, small shop and a number of restaurants are located, all within a short walk. That's the charm of Afiartis - no traffic, just flip-flops and shorts throughout the stay;
  • Chicken Bay - closed and shallow bay ideal for beginners, intermediate windsurfers and children alike. The wind blows from the shore, creating very flat water. Ion Club has its second base here;
  • Gun Bay - open bay near the main Ion Club base and Anemos bar. Suitable for more advanced windsurfers – the ability to waterstart is required here. The wind comes from the left side, with a slight chop and lots of space on the water;
  • Devil's Bay - another open bay with flat water near the shore and chop further out, strongest wind out of the 3 bays thanks to the "venturi" effect where wind accelerates on the slope of the neighbouring mountain. The bay is closed off by a small islet.



Thalassa Suites:

 

  • Modern and newly constructed studios and apartments just behind the main Ion Club base.
  • Equipped with a kitchen with all necessary appliances, air conditioning, fast internet, and a garden/balcony/terrace.
  • Two interior finishing options: pastel or wood and stone.
  • A small playground for children and parking are available.
  • Daily cleaning service.
  • Studios accommodate a maximum of 3/4 people, while apartments can host 4 to 6.

 


Cato Agro Villas:

 

  • 5 villas (1x 3 bedrooms / 2x 2 bedrooms / 1x 1 bedroom).
  • Each villa has a kitchen, terrace, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a private pool for exclusive use.
  • Beautiful view of Gun Bay is an amazing addition.
  • Located about 100m behind the Irini hotel near Devil's Bay and approximately 300m from the Ion Club base and Anemos bar.

 


New & Old Sofia:

 

  • Studios and apartments located next to the main Ion Club base, about 50m from the beach.
  • Each studio and apartment has its own kitchen, terrace/balcony, air conditioning, in addition there’s pool located between the buildings exclusively for Sophia’s guests.
  • Daily cleaning service.
  • Studios accommodate a maximum of 3 people, while apartments can host 4.

 


Coliseum:

 

  • Studios and apartments located next to the New Sofia building, about 40m from the beach.
  • Rooms in Coliseum have a private bathroom, refrigerator, balcony, Wi-Fi, and a fan.
  • Daily cleaning service.
  • Rooms are for 2 people, while the apartments can host 4.

 

Anemos Rooms:

 

  • Rooms located in the Ion Club base building, providing direct access to the center of events.
  • Freshly renovated in 2019 (photos pre-renovation).
  • Equipped with a private bathroom, refrigerator, and traditional Karpathian bed.
  • Breakfast at the Anemos bar (located on top floor of the building) is included in the price.
  • Daily cleaning service.
  • Studios accommodate a maximum of 3 people, while the apartments up to 5.

 


Hotel Irini 4*:

 

  • The hotel is located right on the beach and offers a pool with sunbeds, umbrellas and a designated area for children.
  • Rooms are situated in a garden building and feature a balcony or patio, air conditioning and a refrigerator.
  • The hotel restaurant serves buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Other amenities include a gym, recreational areas with mini-golf and a playground.
  • Daily cleaning service.
  • Rooms accommodate a maximum of 3 people, while apartments can host 4.

 


Windsurfing training:

 

  • Training sessions are conducted in a 2x1.45-hour format by an excellent team well known over the years that combines experience with methodology and individual approach.
  • Training takes place in groups of maximum 6 people with varying levels of expertise.
  • Training takes place both in Chicken Bay for beginners and intermediate levels and Devil's Bay for advanced groups.
